One of the most well-known collectibles nowadays are vintage reproductions or antique signs. Any type of old advertising is very much sought-after. Just before the wide-spread color print technology, antique signs were either tin or metallic, and were painted and stamped. Are there really lots of vintage American cars in Cuba?
I asked a woman at work, and she said they haven't had anything like that in Cuba since 1959, but I saw a recent documentary on public T.V. that suggested otherwise. There were old 50's model Chevys, Fords, Hudsons, etc. There were also a lot of small family-owned father and son businesses, where they were making custom-made parts from scarp metal and glass. If this is really true, how did the cars get there?
They imported them before the US embargo. Since they could not get cars any place else they have keep them running. PBS is not the only one to do stories on these cars several car mags have done them as well.
