Curious beginner in fiberglassing...?
I've been really into custom cars for a long time now and i'm trying to get more information on fiberglass. If it matters i am wanting to make a custom dash ( well mold a new panel to hold my CD player bass knobs and bass enhancer) a new head liner and door pods for speakers for my '96 Lumina. I don't know if there are different kinds of fiberglass and resin for the different applications in which i want to use them for. any information will be great and websites would be great too. Any polyester or vinylester resin will do, initiated with 1-2% methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP), to saturate your material. Good luck, you might be in for a lot of trial and error. The more MEKP you use, the less working time you will have. Also, heat plays a huge factor in kick time (curing time), and an environment less than 73 degrees will have you waiting a long time for your glass to kick.
