Top 5 Retirement Villages in SE Queensland
Retirement villages – they do not signal that life is coming to end; it may actually just about to begin! They are fun, enthusiastic, can be modern and/or old-fashioned, have tight security, 24hr care and the list goes on, but which retirement village is the right one for you or your loved one? Here is a compiled list of the top 5 retirement homes, estates and villas in South East Queensland and a quick review of what's on offer
5.GARDENS GLORY VILLAGE
Coming in at number 5 on our retirement village countdown is Gardens Glory Village. Location wise, it is bang in the middle of Brisbane City and Moreton Bay. The village contains one of SE Queensland's biggest numbers of houses and apartments with over 300 places; combined. Whilst I was on my travels with my own grandmother, we met a elderly gentlemen, Barry, who talked to us about his experience in Garden's Glory; "I love it here! The staff is always friendly. I've never had such a big living room in any of my homes I've lived in!!" How can you argue against such a strong belief about Gardens Glory Retirement Village and is a great way to kick off the top 5 list. Only 1 option, look at the big picture.
4.RUNAWAY BAY RETIREMENT VILLAGE
IF location is a factor that weighs heavily in your decision making process, our number 4 pick on the list may be just what your after. The Runaway Bay retirement village is located right along the Gold Coasts' north canal and within touching distance of shops, cafes and public transport. The village itself offers incredible views of both the canal and hinterlands so no home goes without providing some sort of a view from everyone's front doorstep. With all the usual facilities and activities, Runaway Bay Retiree's have nothing to worry about when it comes to staying fit, active and entertained. Location is highly regarded.
3.PALM LAKE RESORTS
Coming in at number 3 on the Top 5 list for Retirement Villages is Palm Lake Resorts. Not just a retirement village, the Palm Lake Resort ‘franchise' has up to five (5) over-50's living areas and two (2) separate retirement villages, one in Bethania and another in Redland Bay; both well equipped and experienced in aged care services. The retirement villages are generally set up for those that struggle more to perform day-to-day activities but can still be active and enjoy the surrounding facilities. The over-50's living arrangements are for those more physically able for daily (and nightly!) activities and with 2 new centers (Baraga and Eagleby Heights), one can suggest that business is booming. Worth considering.
2.KAWANA WATERS RETIREMENT LIVING
Kawana Waters is a perfect example of retirement living at its most relaxing. Situated within minutes of beaches, shopping centers, restaurants and boating facilities, Kawana water is just right for those retiree's looking at a peaceful and tranquil way of living. With its picturesque location and relatively new homes and facilities, Azure Redcliff is becoming highly regarded in the genre of elderly care and living. Again everything needed is in close proximity of the homes, the fun and games on offer are second to none and for those not wanting a life by the Redcliff peninsula, Azure Blue offers an estate in Carina which is a lot closer to Brisbane city and closer to familiar surroundings.
