How do Red Green and Blue Screens make yellow in RGB Technology?

I recently saw the commercial where Sharp announces it has added yellow to the standard RGB configuration that standard TV screens use to make up colors. How is it that Red, Green and Blue make yellow on these TVs?

The visual light color wheel is not the same as what we are taught in art class as the standard color wheel. When you mix all the colors of light together, you get white, as opposed to mixing all the colors of paint together and getting black.

So, when you mix blue light and green light, you get yellow light. The more light you add, the brighter it becomes. I know this isn't a very scientific answer, but it's the way I understand it.
